Land yourself one of 1,200 new jobs

Melbourne's west will see 1,200 new jobs created in the next five years as part of the State Government's $1.8 billion western roads upgrade.
That's the promise from Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews and it will come as very welcome news to those living in Verdant Hill as well as those hoping to move here.

From early 2018 to 2021

One of the biggest road network overhauls will be undertaken with huge benefits for local residents, workers and commuters.

To clear traffic and bottlenecks

Some of Wyndham's busiest routes will be upgraded. These are the major arterials in and around Point Cook, Truganina, Laverton North, Werribee, Hoppers Crossing and Tarneit, home to Verdant Hill.

Expect widening and duplication of popular sections

  • Dunnings and Palmers Roads Point Cook
  • Derrimut Road Tarneit
  • Leakes Road Truganina
  • Dohertys Road Laverton North
  • Princes Freeway and Forsyth Road interchange Hoppers Crossing
  • Duncans Road interchange in Werribee South.

For job creation on a grand scale

With such a huge development, employment opportunities will abound for apprentices, trainees and former autoworkers.

Keeping trucks off local streets

By ensuring more efficient use of freight routes on major arterial roads, local roads can be used by the community for the community, making the environment safer and cleaner for all.
