Nothing says spring like flowers coming into bloom, and the very best are on display at the State Rose & Garden Show.
From Saturday 9th to Sunday 10th November, Victoria’s State Rose and Garden Show at the Werribee Mansion precinct will host the annual showcase of gardening and flowers with family entertainment, music, food and drink, expert gardening tips and of course, more than 5,000 roses in full colour.
More than just a display of the world’s favourite flower, the show will offer live plant care demonstrations, as well as stalls selling plants, tools, pots, homewares and tasty treats. It’s the perfect way to find inspiration for your own garden, introduce children to the joys and benefits of growing their own plants – especially ones they can eat – and enjoy the beauty of the state gardens and the Werribee parklands.
Saturday will see craft brewers, boutique winemakers and barbecue gurus set the scene for a relaxing afternoon, while on Sunday a glamorous vintage vibe takes over with prosecco, gin and high tea.
Creative kids’ activities will run all weekend, including mini-posy-making workshops, garden craft, magic wand and pot decoration.
Entry is free, but a gold coin donation to help the garden’s volunteers is encouraged.
