Celebrate The Spring Bloom At Werribee Mansion

Only twenty minutes from Verdant Hill, The Victorian State Rose Garden in Werribee is the largest of its kind in Australia. This November, the garden will host the return of the annual State Rose and Garden Show, a celebration of the spring bloom and a beautiful opportunity to indulge your green thumb or to simply enjoy the start of the warmer weather in Melbourne.

The event will showcase the beauty of the six-acre garden estate of the Werribee Mansion and will exhibit the bloom of the 5000 technicolour roses grown in the gardens. Visitors will enjoy wandering the stunning landscaped grounds, exploring the array of vibrant exhibitors and nurseries, or taking in the incredible entertainment presented by the City of Wyndham.

A line-up featuring Australia’s most respected gardening experts will grace the stage across the two-day event, including Melissa King from ‘Better Homes & Gardens, Vasili Kanidiadis of ‘Vasili’s Garden’, as well as horticulturist Craig Castree, and florist and podcaster Rebecca Noble. Guided tours of the gardens, plant-care demonstrations, and hands-on workshops will delight avid and amateur gardeners alike.

For families, a children’s sensory garden and sandpit play area will keep the littlest landscapers entertained, while floral installations created by the talented Rebecca Noble and Kayla Moon will rouse the senses. A workshop space featuring nature play, posy-making, and activities with Holly’s Backyard Bees, will plant the seed of wonderment in kids of all ages.

Food trucks, stalls, and live music will also adorn the lawns of the gardens, inviting visitors to picnic amongst the blooms and take in the fragrant atmosphere of the stunning floral festivities.

The free event is open for all ages and will run on the 5th and 6th of November from 10 am to 4 pm daily, at the Victoria State Rose Garden, K Road, Werribee Park. For more information, click here.
